Zeenews Bureau New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Friday carried out fresh searches in 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh in connection with the multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam.
According to reports, at least thirty teams of the central probe agency are carrying out searches in the houses and promises of the health department officials and firms that supply medicines and other material.
According to sources, the CBI operation is being conducted in various places including Lucknow, Basti and Bahraich.
Meanwhile, the probe agency has also registered four new cases related to medicine supplies under NRHM scam.
The note, according to the police, held CMO Dr JP Bhargava, deputy CMO Dr Balbir Singh and other officials, responsible for the suicide.
The CBI had also quizzed BSP MLA Ram Prasad Jaiswal and former family welfare minister Babu Singh Kushwaha in connection with the NRHM scam last week.
